Personal Statement

I have finally found and outlined my personal statement for which I hope is the last time.  I have found it to be a truly personal subject to me.  The LSAT was hard, but this does not even compare in my eyes.  I was searching for this obvious moment or situation in my life, but could not fit them together.  I realized that I needed to stop looking through all these complex moments and think of the more simple times in my life.  I have finally synthesized a combo that exhibits who I am and what I am going to bring to law school.

I am excited to write it because my real emotions will be going into it (I am not going to speak about it now because it is a pretty touchy subject and occurred recently and it will be in my personal statement for people to POSSIBLY see later).  When it comes to creative writing I am not the best.  I have always loved non-fiction and factual writing.  I remember being a child and participating in summer reading programs, but they only had fiction and I became upset.  Nevertheless, I am very excited to write this and do an amazing job on it.  Enjoy the rest of your weekend!

Patience is a Virtue

After taking PrepTest 56 today, I have finally scored in the range I hoped to be in.  I was quite happy with my performance, and cannot wait to absolutely have a field day with 57 next weekend.  I am really in sync with the new tests which are laid out in a manner which makes them more comprehensible than the older tests.  I believe the structure of the questions are more sound, and yes logical.  The only section giving me some troubles is reading comprehension, in which typically one passage hits me in the face, whereas the rest are perfect, which is bittersweet.  Bitter because  if is was not for that one passage I would have a perfect on that section, but sweet because I know my main problem and what I need to fix.  Luckily it is rather easy and hopefully something I can remedy in the next week.  I am going to practice reading comprehension for the remainder of this week and hopefully score a perfect on the section on 57 (and maybe on the entire test).

Patience is indeed a virtue, and there is nothing better working extremely hard for something you really yearn for, and finally achieving it.  Have a great weekend everyone!  CIAO!

Q and A

I have been getting emails regarding how I have been studying so I will briefly touch on some topics.

Well my main strategies have been taking as many tests as possible.  I have also been taking 10 sections of logical reasoning etc to help my endurance.

I have also been researching and learning the basic skills learned in the first year of law school because those are the exact skills the LSAT tests everyone on.

For instance reading comprehension can be compared to briefing a case.  One needs to understand the the main argument, the facts surrounding the argument, analogically compare and synthesize, etc.  The list goes on and on.  Even analytical reasoning tests skills that are required for first year.  As much as everyone thinks the LSAT does not test first year, it does and the LSAC has published articles and studies on it.

Think like a law student or lawyer and that will increase your odds at doing well on the LSAT.

Let the Games Begin

I am very excited for this years admission process to being.  I have an interview next Saturday with a top 20 ranked law school, which has really inspired me.  I am going to take the June 2008 LSAT today and continue to work just as hard as I have been on preparing for the LSAT.

Two Tests a Day Equals Progress

I have made some amazing progress in the past week or so, plowing through my plateau, and reaching my all time highest score.  I am averaging around it by no more than one or two points below or above.  I feel really confident on my test scores right now and I have time for more improvement.  Now it is mere points that I need, so I need to really pay attention to subtle details and errors that I am committing.  With school starting I need to get everything together for the application process such as resumes, letters of recommendation, personal statements, and so on, but the LSAT is still my main concern.  I will give an update soon, Good Night!
